On Thursday, 4 February 2021, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Kaunas, on R. Kalantos street near No. 10, a BMW 7ER Reihe hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 64-year-old driver of the BMW (40 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.69‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
