On Tuesday, 9 February 2021, in the evening at 20:20, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 115.50), a Scania R420 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the driver of the Scania (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
