On Friday, 26 March 2021, in the morning at 9:12, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 88), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Corolla Verso and a Skoda Superb. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Toyota, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
