On Sunday, 11 April 2021, in the afternoon at 12:25, in Švenčionių district municipality, on the Kiti keliai local road (kilometre 3.90), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a BRP registered in Poland and a KTM. Two people were injured — the 33-year-old driver of the BRP (severely injured, hospitalized) and the 41-year-old driver of the KTM (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the BRP (14 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
