On Saturday, 24 April 2021, in the morning at 5:33, in Klaipėdos district municipality, Saulažolių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 292.70), a Skoda Octavia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Skoda (2 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.97‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
