On Sunday, 9 May 2021, at night at 1:57, in Kelmės district municipality, on Vilties street near No. 14, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Ford Focus and an Opel. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.49‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
