On Saturday, 15 May 2021, in the evening at 22:05, in Alytaus district municipality, on the Seirijai–Simnas–Igliauka national road (kilometre 25.60), a Suzuki GSX-R 750 ran off the road. Two people were injured — the 29-year-old driver of the Suzuki (treated as an outpatient) and a 23-year-old passenger of the Suzuki (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the Suzuki (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
