On Saturday, 22 May 2021, in the morning at 5:40, in Šilutės district municipality, on the Priekulė–Sakūčiai–Ventė regional road (kilometre 23.46), a BMW 523 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the BMW (1 year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.13‰ blood alcohol).
