On Saturday, 22 May 2021, in the morning at 5:30, in Šalčininkų district municipality, on the Šalčininkai–Butrimonys–Eišiškės national road (kilometre 18.91), a Volvo XC90 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Volvo, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.39‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
