On Friday, 4 June 2021, in the evening at 18:50, in Rietavo municipality, Girėnų village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 252.50), a Volvo XC60 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Volvo (13 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
