On Saturday, 26 June 2021, in the morning at around 10:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 89.50), a traffic accident occurred. The accident involved an Opel Zafira and a Nissan. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Opel (10 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober.
