On Friday, 10 September 2021, in the evening at 21:13, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 39.20), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Skoda Superb and a Ford Galaxy registered in Belarus. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Skoda (27 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.28‰ blood alcohol).
