On Saturday, 11 September 2021, at night at 23:10, in Biržų district municipality, Akmeniškio village, a Volkswagen Sharan hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 53-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.45‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
