On Thursday, 23 September 2021, in the evening at around 20:00, in Varėnos district municipality, Merkinės town, on Vilniaus street near No. 71, a Honda CR-V ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 50-year-old driver of the Honda (20 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane.
