On Wednesday, 27 October 2021, in the morning at 10:37, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Maišiagala–Širvintos regional road (kilometre 16), a Volkswagen Bora rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.47‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
