On Tuesday, 23 November 2021, in the morning at 8:51, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Aristava–Sitkūnai main road (kilometre 24), a Scania R 420LA registered in Latvia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Scania (29 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered.
