On Monday, 29 November 2021, in the afternoon at 16:10, in Akmenės district municipality, Suginčių village, on the Naujoji Akmenė–Vegeriai–Vytiniai regional road (kilometre 5.20), a DAF registered in Latvia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the DAF (14 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
