On Thursday, 2 December 2021, in the evening at 22:56, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 67), a DAF hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the DAF (16 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was freezing rain, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
