On Wednesday, 15 December 2021, in the morning at around 8:00, in Šiaulių district municipality, Aleksandrijos village, on Plytinės street near No. 12, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz A160 and a Renault Megane Scenic. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.33‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was freezing rain, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
