Drunk Opel driver and two other cars crash on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus road
On Tuesday, 14 December 2021, in the evening at 17:20, in Prienų district municipality, Pabališkių village, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 28), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra, a Toyota and a car. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the Opel (30 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.00‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was freezing rain, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
