On Thursday, 23 December 2021, in the evening at 19:50, in Utenos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Utena main road (kilometre 94.20), a Toyota Prius hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Toyota (10 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (2.92‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
