On Tuesday, 11 January 2022, at night at 2:55, in Joniškio district municipality, Kriukų town, on Naujoji street near No. 8, a Volvo V50 hit an obstacle. Two people were injured — the 31-year-old driver of the Volvo (treated as an outpatient) and a 24-year-old passenger of the Volvo (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Volvo, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.80‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 24-year-old passenger of the Volvo was drunk. At the time of the accident it was dark, it was overcast, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
