On Friday, 28 January 2022, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 12), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo FH12.460 and an Audi A3. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 61-year-old driver of the Volvo (38 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
