Mercedes-Benz truck hits a parked Mercedes-Benz truck on the Vilnius–Minskas road
On Sunday, 17 April 2022, at night at 0:55, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius–Minskas main road (kilometre 28.12), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz, a Schmitz Cargobull, a Mercedes-Benz Actros 1844 LS registered in Moldova and a Schmitz Cargobull registered in Moldova. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 42-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (25 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
