On Sunday, 24 April 2022, in the morning at 9:11, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, Karčiupio village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 87.10), a BMW rolled over. Three people were injured — the 38-year-old driver of the BMW (hospitalized), a 27-year-old passenger of the BMW (hospitalized) and a 30-year-old passenger of the BMW (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the BMW (8 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
