On Saturday, 21 May 2022, in the afternoon at 15:17, in Utenos district municipality, on the Užpaliai–Alaušai–Bajoriškiai regional road (kilometre 5.20), a Volkswagen Golf ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.28‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence.
