On Friday, 8 July 2022, in the evening at 21:09, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Naisiai–Gibaičiai–Meškuičiai regional road (kilometre 6.03), a Renault Laguna ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Renault (2 years of driving experience), who exceeded the speed set by traffic rules or road signs. He was drunk (1.63‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
