On Wednesday, 17 August 2022, in the evening at 22:30, in Vilnius, on Šv. Stepono street near No. 18, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a Jeep Compass. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
