Volkswagen hits a pedestrian at a crossing at Džiugo g. and Gedimino g., Telšiai

On Monday, 19 September 2022, in the afternoon at 16:10, in Telšių district municipality, on Džiugo street, at the junction with Gedimino street, a Volkswagen Tiguan hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 16-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (6 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
