On Monday, 7 November 2022, in the evening at 18:54, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Širvintos–Bagaslaviškis–Kaliakiemiai regional road (kilometre 12.01), a vehicle hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 53-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
