Opel Astra and Skoda crash on the Vilnius–Prienai–Marijampolė road
On Thursday, 24 November 2022, in the evening at 19:05, in Birštono municipality, on the Vilnius–Prienai–Marijampolė main road (kilometre 91.13), a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra registered in Poland and a Skoda Octavia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the Opel (22 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
