Drunk, unlicensed Audi driver runs off the road on the Šiauliai–Palanga road
On Tuesday, 10 January 2023, at night at 23:58, in Telšių district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 64.80), an Audi 80 Avant ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 74-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.77‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
