On Friday, 27 January 2023, in the morning at 6:30, in Kelmės district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 92.84), an Iveco AS440S45 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 50-year-old driver of the Iveco (30 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
