On Saturday, 4 March 2023, at night at 2:30, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zapyškis–Šakiai national road (kilometre 13.70), a Toyota Prius ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the weather was clear, the road surface was wet.
