On Monday, 17 April 2023, in the evening at 19:55, in Kaunas, on Aido street, at the junction with Pienių street, a Volkswagen Passat ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (0.62‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
