On Sunday, 23 April 2023, at night at around 23:00, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Klaipėda–Liepoja (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 7.45), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW and a Peugeot 307. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.61‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 22-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (0.10‰). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
