On Sunday, 18 June 2023, in the afternoon at 16:25, in Raseinių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 166), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Touareg and a BMW. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 42-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (25 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
