On Monday, 10 July 2023, in the evening at 19:27, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 49), a Volkswagen Crafter ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 53-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (24 years of driving experience), who was taken ill at the wheel. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
