On Wednesday, 9 August 2023, in the morning at 7:15, in Kalvarijos municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai main road (kilometre 96), a DAF ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the DAF (3 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
