On Saturday, 26 August 2023, in the afternoon at 14:20, in Alytaus district municipality, Šiukščiakalnio village, on Vytauto street, a Suzuki GSX 750 rolled over. One person died — the 24-year-old driver of the Suzuki (was not wearing a helmet). The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Suzuki, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.81‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
