On Wednesday, 10 January 2024, in the afternoon at 11:37, in Klaipėdos district municipality, Mazūriškių village, on Jurgaičių street near No. 16, a BMW 5ER Reihe hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 53-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the BMW (16 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.51‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
