On Tuesday, 13 February 2024, in the morning at around 6:00, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Jonava–Žasliai–Kalniniai Mijaugonys national road (kilometre 36.87), an Audi ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Audi (12 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.81‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
