On Sunday, 31 March 2024, at night at 0:20, in Varėnos district municipality, Senosios Varėnos village, on Mokyklos street near No. 36, a Jaguar hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Jaguar (5 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (0.83‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
