On Wednesday, 3 April 2024, in the evening at around 21:00, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 101.10), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a vehicle and a Mercedes-Benz Atego 1823. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
