On Saturday, 11 May 2024, in the afternoon at 15:40, in Šakių district municipality, Zygmantų village, on the Zygmantai–Paluobiai regional road (kilometre 0), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a 021 and a Honda. One person was injured — the 28-year-old driver of the Honda (treated as an outpatient, had no driving licence). The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the 021, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.55‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. The 28-year-old driver of the Honda was drunk (2.00‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
