On Saturday, 8 June 2024, at night at 2:17, in Palangos city municipality, on the Klaipėda–Liepoja main road (kilometre 27.30), a car rolled over. Two people were injured — the 20-year-old driver of a car (treated as an outpatient) and a 25-year-old passenger of a car (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of a car, who failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (1.02‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 25-year-old passenger of a car was drunk. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
