On Monday, 15 July 2024, in the morning at around 8:00, in Utenos district municipality, on the Jotaučiai–Sirvydžiai–Minčia–Jakėnai regional road (kilometre 14.28), a Skoda Octavia hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the Skoda, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
