On Sunday, 4 August 2024, in the evening at around 17:00, in Kaunas, on Šarkuvos street near No. 1, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra, a Volkswagen and a Mercedes-Benz. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Opel (10 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.11‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene.
