On Monday, 5 August 2024, in the morning at around 10:00, in Šiauliai, on Algirdo Juliaus Greimo street, at the junction with Žemaitės street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Zafira and a BMW. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 69-year-old driver of the Opel (27 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
