On Sunday, 8 September 2024, in the evening at around 18:00, in Raseinių district municipality, on the Viduklės g st–Plačiuva–Paupys regional road (kilometre 5.21), an Opel Astra-G-Caravan ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 57-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
